Simple and brilliant |
|
I don't know why anyone would use a suction mount after using this product! If your gps fits with this mount, buy it -- buy it along with purchasing your new gps now and never use the suction mount that comes with your unit. This thing never slides on the dashboard, it's portable, and it's easy to adjust for the best viewing angle. It works. |

Great solution for deeply slanted windshields! |
Mounting my Garmin Nuvi directly on the windshield was not an option for my Honda Element as the windshield has a deep slant that would make the screen too far for comfortable viewing.
The friction mount allows me to place my Nuvi above and slightly right of the dashboard gauges where it is easily viewed and obscures very little sight through the windshield. I have never had it slide out of position. I would not be able to get much use out of my GPS without this mount. |

I love the fact that with this product I don't have to have the ring smudges on my windshield. It stays in place and doesn't move around on the dash. Great quality, I'd recommend this product and this company to any of you. |

The Garmin portable friction mount has worked out well in both our family van and sedan. It does not slide and conforms well to the different dash surfaces. |

Almost perfect |
I'm not sure I have anything new to add. However, you rarely come across something that fits a need so well. In a nutshell, after trying several different mounting methods I've come back to the old-fashioned, almost Fred Flinstone-ish, bean bag approach.
Perfect except for the following:
--If you have a VERY fast car and enjoy showing off, the mount will come flying off with tire-squealing jackrabbit starts. This is one way you'll know for sure you're driving a car too fast for your own good.
--Takes up quite a bit of dashboard space
Except for these two minor annoyances, this mount is the perfect solution. I've tried and thrown away several other mounting solutions because they just did not work as promised (adhesive, vent, cigarette lighter, etc). |
